Sygnus Real Estate Finance (SRF), which started operations in August 2019, is a specialty real estate investment company which provides flexible financing to unlock value in real estate assets across the Caribbean region. SRF has Real Estate Investment Assets valued over US$97.50M and total Assets Under Management (AUM) of over US$99.01M. The focus for SRF is investing equity or debt in all forms of real estate—commercial, residential, industrial and hospitality. SRF invests at various stages of the real estate life cycle, including greenfield, brownfield, distressed and opportunistic. The company finances real estate opportunities with a short to medium-term investment horizon typically between 3 and 5 years. The focus is primarily on generating capital appreciation, and to a lesser extent current income, from its Real Estate Investment Assets.

Our Investments Strategy

The Firm primarily invests in real estate assets using flexible financing instruments and structures, including preference shares, equity (joint-ventures, land, ordinary shares etc.), asset swaps, profit sharing debt, secured debt, asset-backed debt, mezzanine debt, and other forms of flexible financing structures. These forms of financing are typically more aligned with unlocking and maximizing the value in real estate assets. SRF invests at the value creation stage of real estate and leverages its strong partnership with the foremost experts in architecture, engineering, surveying, and project management, to foster a culture of innovation. This holistic approach is anchored by our risk management strategy, which ensures that we deliver attractive risk-adjusted returns with downside protection for our shareholders.
