Record Earnings and First Acrecent Dividend Mark Milestone Year for SCI

(Kingston, Jamaica) – Sygnus Credit Investments Limited (“SCI” or the “Group”) delivered the strongest financial year in its history for the financial year ended June 30, 2026, delivering records for total investment income and net investment income, with net profit attributable to shareholders more than doubling, propelled by a record-breaking financial performance from its Puerto Rico private credit business. The Group’s 95.85% owned Puerto Rican subsidiary, Acrecent Financial Limited (“Acrecent” or “AFL”) commenced its first set of semi-annual dividend payments during the financial year, distributing over US$2.00 million up to SCI.

Acrecent generated record US$8.10 million in net profits, up 57.3% from US$5.15 million last year, supported by total investment income of record US$11.29 million, up 34.6% from US$8.39 million last year. AFL’s performance has been driven by robust capital deployment and a major reorganization, which resulted in a more efficient and optimized private credit business. The Group recognized a gain of US$7.66 million, up 21.2%, from the Puerto Rico Credit Fund (PRCF) investment income, which represents the value flowing up through to SCI from the financials of AFL. During the financial year, SCI increased its ownership stake of the Puerto Rico business from 95.58% to 95.85%.

SCI’s total investment income increased 27.9% to a record US$19.68 million, compared to US$15.39 million in the prior financial year, while net investment income, the Company’s core earnings measure, grew 39.0% to a record US$13.93 million, up from US$10.02 million in the prior year. Net profit attributable to shareholders more than doubled, increasing 123.4% to a record US$9.55 million, compared with US$4.28 million last year. Earnings per share were 1.65 US cents, while the return on average equity was 12.4%.

The Group’s performance was driven primarily by the record net interest income of US$11.75 million, which was a 32.5% increase over US$8.87 million last year, alongside the greater earnings contribution from PRCF investment income, recognising a gain of US$7.66 million. The growth in net interest income reflected an increase in assets under management, the reacceleration of portfolio deployment during the second half of the financial year, and income earned from investment exits.

Jason Morris, Co-Founder, Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of Sygnus Capital, said: “This financial year marks a significant milestone for SCI, in delivering the strongest financial performance in its nine-year history. Following the acquisition and a major reorganization, the Puerto Rico private credit business has now reached an important inflection point, reflected in the significant earnings growth and the commencement of dividend payments up to SCI. These distributions deliver on a key strategic goal previously communicated to investors, translating the platform’s growth into realized returns for SCI and supporting long-term shareholder value. The Group’s performance reflects robust capital deployment and disciplined execution of its investment strategy. SCI also made meaningful progress in diversifying its funding base and deepening relationships with international financing partners, positioning the business to scale its private credit platform and capitalize on opportunities across the English-, Dutch-, and Spanish-speaking Caribbean.”

SCI’s balance sheet also expanded during the financial year, with total assets increasing 13.5% to record US$251.53 million, compared with US$221.65 million for the corresponding period last year. Total shareholders’ equity increased 10.3% to US$80.73 million from US$73.17 million in the previous year, while total investment in portfolio companies reached US$238.81 million from US$209.78 million, representing growth of 13.8% over the previous year. SCI financed US$40.54 million in new investment commitments while successfully exiting US$25.08 million in transactions. Across its combined English- and Spanish-speaking private credit platform, deployment surpassed US$100 million, with the combined portfolio value exceeding US$300 million during the financial year.

The Company also strengthened its access to capital during the period, successfully closing a multi-tranche dual-currency capital raise equivalent to US$27.47 million to support the growth of its private credit portfolio. SCI further advanced its relationships with international financing institutions, including entering into a guarantee agreement with IDB Invest in support of an uncommitted revolving working capital facility of up to US$10 million for Sygnus Investment Bahamas Inc., a receivables financing company sponsored by SCI as its anchor investor.

SCI’s combined portfolio remained broadly diversified as at June 30, 2026, comprising 131 investments across 20 industries and eight territories when including the underlying portfolio in Puerto Rico. The largest industry exposures were infrastructure, financial services and hospitality, while Puerto Rico, Jamaica and St. Lucia represented the largest territorial exposures.

The audited financial statements for the financial year ended June 30, 2026, together with the Management Discussion and Analysis and earnings call presentation, are available on Sygnus’ website and the Jamaica Stock Exchange.
